If you are advertising your website on adwords and you are trying to sell ‘professional dog grooming clippers’ and in your ad you are using the phrase ‘hot, new grooming supplies’, you are probably going to get traffic from a wide variety of the audience. Everyone and their brother will click through your ad to see what hot, new grooming supplies are available. This could cost hundreds of dollars and probably a lot of sales. You are searching for a targeted group of people that are looking for a specific kind of product or service, so you need to use targeted keywords for a targeted group of customers. Wealthy Affiliate Review taught me how to do proper keyword research, to target a specific audience.
If you were new to Internet marketing, you would most likely try to promote your website under the keywords ‘dog grooming’ or ‘dog grooming supplies’. But, if you had the training and knowledge in doing the proper research, you would find out that your targeted audience are most likely the professional dog groomer and are looking for a specific brand of clippers. This is why targeted research is critical to receiving the right kind of visitor to your website and are probably going to make a sale.
