How Internet Marketers Can Provide Good Customer Service

Many people look into internet marketing because, for the most part, it is a mostly automated business model. The thinking is that all you need to do is set up a website where you offer items or services for sale, use marketing methods like links to get people there, and then watch as those people buy your products and services without you having to lift a finger.

It seems, on the surface, like it doesn’t take very much work at all. This could be the reason a lot of these internet marketers are doing a less than acceptable job at customer service. Whether you’re operating an online or a traditional, brick-and-mortar business, customer service is going to be critical to your success. Follow these simple customer service tips and see your clients and customers returning time and again to purchase from you.

Whenever someone buys from you, make sure that you have a physical mail address for them and then send them a handwritten thank you note stating your appreciation for their business. This is going to work better for you if you don’t have a very large business yet. When your business is small, these personal touches go a long way!

When you send a handwritten thank you note to your customers you are endearing yourself to them and offering them encouragement to buy from you if they need your service again. And really, a quick little note should only take you a couple of minutes to write. This could ensure future sales that can add up to hundreds of dollars. This is effective in any market from the common ‘lose weight’ niches all the way to specific technology niches like antivirus and selling a UK Proxy

Another nice touch is to send buyers an email after they have purchased something that offers them a discount on their next purchase.

It’s extremely easy to make this possible, especially if you use an automatic responder, and the customers will oftentimes come back to your site to redeem the discount! This is a great way to add hundred, or maybe even thousands, of dollars to your bottom line. No one will turn away from a great deal! A great way to implement this initiative is to create a special coupon or promotional code that you only give to previous customers, or you could also create a special service for people that respond directly to your mailings.

If you want to provide good customer service you also have to make it easy for customers to contact you to leave feedback or ask questions. In fact, if you are difficult to contact, you may never make many sales in the first place. People are not going to trust you if they have no way to contact you.

Providing a certain amount of personal service is essential if you want to be successful. This means allowing them to contact you. Yes, this creates more work for you, but isn’t it worth it if it helps you make the sale? Providing a certain amount of personal service is necessary if you want more customers. There is no reason to think that good customer service is only necessary in traditional businesses. If you continually disappoint your customers with a poor standard of customer service, you will find that they never return to buy from you again. As with other business models, excellent customer service can be what helps your online business stand out. What efforts are you making to improve your customer relations?
