Yet there are plenty of tactics you can use to make your first blog a little easier on you. Blogging is a Fun Career That Make Good Money a possibility.

Guest Blog Posting: There is no better way to expand your blog quickly and achieve amazing results than by accepting guest blog posts from other writers and returning the favor. Accepting posts by guest writers means that you don’t have the problem anymore of having to come up with ideas and create content on your own. A guest blogger’s goal is to drive traffic from the blog they post on to their own site. Remember that it will take a while to find quality writers who want to contribute, especially if you have a relatively new site. Until then, you can go out there and write for other blogs as a guest blogger yourself. This will help drive targeted traffic to your site and give it the exposure it needs. Writing guest posts is a frequently used technique by both well-known, reputable bloggers as well as those who are only just beginning their journey. Having your blog filled with good and practical content should be done before you start promoting it. If your readers view your blog as unfinished and unappealing, then there is nothing that will make them want to come back the next time. Your main intention is to impress your visitors and get them as new blog subscribers.

Quality Content is a Priority: If you already have a blog or want to start one, then realize that having excellent content is very important. Most of the bloggers who do not succeed are not getting anything from their blogs. This is usually because they are doing too much to optimize their blog for the search engines or they are looking for shortcuts to blogger. There’s no easy route when it comes to quality blogging. You will have to work hard on creating content that’s targeted and serves a real purpose. Your blog should provide plenty of reasons for your readers to come back at a later time for new content. Ensure that it is original and new. This is so that your blog will be better than the competition. Many people don’t realize that blogging is quite simple and thus, they tend to shy away from it, even though it isn’t rocket science. What Do You Know About Copyright & Trademark?

If you are one of the millions of web developers or bloggers on the internet, do you know if you are in violation of another party’s trademark or copyright? Do you know if someone on the internet is violating your trademark or content under copyright protection? Typically web publishers spend countless hours learning how to increase website traffic and how to increase website ranking. But how much time is invested in learning your rights and the rights of others in regard to copyright and trademarks? No matter where you are located it’s always important to be aware of your rights and the rights of others. I am a United States citizen, so for the purpose of this brief introduction into copyright and trademarks I’ll be discussing the laws pertinent to the US; as they are the only ones that I’m familiar with.

Firstly, understand that anything written is automatically protected by copyright. Even if something does not explicitly state that it is copy written, all published material is protected by copyright. It is possible to file for a copyright with the US government for a copyright (copyright.gov), but in my opinion it’s not really required for websites. There is a very clear distinction that should be kept in mind; ideas are not protected under copyright, but what is written and how it was written is. So what exactly is copyright?

Definition: “Copyright is a set of exclusive rights granted to the author or creator of an original work, including the right to copy, distribute and adapt the work.”

This should be known without saying, but never copy or redistribute another’s work claiming it as your own. The redistribution or use of another’s work may only legally be used under copyright with the written permission from the author who owns the material.

Little known fact: Copyright does not protect domain names in the U.S.

Unlike copyright, trademarks a whole different ball game. Applying for a trademark definitely should be taken under consideration, especially if you are planning to build a serious online business. Sure business names, logos, slogans, or photos are protected under copyright to some extent, but the protection that copyright gives is very limited and doesn’t carry much weight. For instance, if you create a logo and someone copied it and changed the smallest detail such as the colors; legally that person would not be in violation of copyright law. Surely that person may be a jerk and stole your work, but no laws were broken. On the other hand if the same scenario took place with a trademarked logo and you filed a suit against this person they would be in some serious trouble with the law. Trademark carries a lot more weight than copyright does, but it costs significantly more money to file for a trademark.

Definition: “Trademark is a distinctive sign or indicator used by an individual, business organization, or other legal entity to identify that the products or services to consumers with which the trademark appears originate from a unique source, and to distinguish its products or services from those of other entities.”

Like I said, this article is just an introduction to copyright and trademark law. I believe that web publishers should be just as aware of these laws as any other laws to better protect themselves and the rights of others. This way you will have a clear understanding and know under what conditions your hard work is protected under when you find your website listed on google page one.

How To Make A Profit From Your Blog

Putting ads on your blog is one of the most important moves you can make because this is how you will make money from it. Plenty of newbie bloggers find difficulty earning money with their blogs. Even though it is not that difficult to accomplish, this happens because most of them do not know how to make money with their blogs. This article will discuss some of the ways that your blog can be monetized in order to make a steady flow of cash. Since it such an important online asset, why not backup with WP Twin Review.

You could make money on your blog by selling your own personal products and services. Advertising is not the only way to make money on your blog. If you have experience in a certain industry, it would be simple for you to monetize your blog by producing digital products and selling them. For instance, you can write an eBook that focuses on solving the problems of your target market and sell it at a good price. In addition, you could also promote your personal services to anyone in your niche that needs them.

As a SEO marketer, you could charge a small amount of money to help your readers properly optimize their blogs for the search engine spiders. As a copywriter, you could offer your readers your services to help them produce sales copies. A lot of choices are available if you want to get out of your level of comfort.

For the products that you have some type of affiliation with, you can write reviews for them. This will provide the opportunity for you to make a lot of money in addition to building your credibility in your niche. You can review various products in your market and give your readers a peek into the advantages and disadvantages the product you’re reviewing. The way to be successful is to be as honest as possible. This is the only way to provide value and win the trust of your viewers. For example, if you come across a good book on Amazon.com that is related to your niche, you can write an elaborate review on this book after going through it yourself. When they are on the prowl for a honest review, your readers will start flocking to you. This will make it easier for them to get products via your blog.

Leverage CPM networks for your monetization goals. CPM is considered to be the average price per one thousand hits. The difference between a PPC network and CPM network is that instead of being paid based upon the amount of ad clicks you get, you will be paid based upon the amount of impressions the ad gets. This will help advertisers to get something back on their investment by making the ad impressions important. So, if your blog has a theme that is targeted and wonderful content, this would be the best way to get advertisers. All you would have to do is become a member of a CPM network like Value Click and wait for the cash to start rolling in.

Blogging is here to stay. If you are blogging only as a hobby, then you are missing out on plenty of opportunities for making money. By blending your hobby and skills for a topic, you can become very successful online. So, begin effectively making money with your blog. How To Effectively Make Money With Your Blog

Blogging has become one of the most desirable professions online but the question is whether everyone is making money from it. Sadly, not everyone is making money simply because you need to employ a proven money making tactic to actually make a profit. The purpose of this article is to show you how you can leverage various methods to make your blog profitable. You can do it, even if you are blogging about the article marketing secrets or free rebrandable report.

Don’t forget that monetizing your blog doesn’t mean that you can only employ one technique. Many bloggers don’t take full advantage of the membership model to monetize their blogs. You can convince your audience to pay for content by offering them excellent free information first. Another name for this monetization model that requires people to pay a membership fee to access locked content after having gone through the free information is the “freemium” system. This model applies to blogs that are in a niche where people are looking for solutions. Weight loss is a prime example because this is a massive industry where people are always trying to find new and improved solutions for their weight loss woes. So, you can maximize your blog’s profits, if it is in such a field, by converting it into a membership site and applying the freemium model.

You can choose to write reviews for the products and services that you have an affiliation with. This will not only help you to get great commissions, but it will help make you a credible authority for your niche. You can review different products in your niche and provide your readers a glimpse of the good and bad of that product. The key to success here is to be as honest as you possibly can. This is the only way to provide value and win the trust of your viewers. For example, if you find a good Amazon book about your niche, you can give a good review on this after looking at it yourself. Gradually, your readers will come to when they want new information about a product. This will ensure that they buy products through your blog.

Leverage CPM networks for your monetization goals. CPM is basically the average cost per 1000 impressions. Instead of getting paid for ad clicks, the difference between a CPM and PPC network is that with a CPM network, you will get paid per impression. This will help advertisers to get something back on their investment by making the ad impressions important. So if your blog has a targeted theme and good content, it would prove to be an effective approach. The only thing you have to do is join a CPM network like Value Click and you will be on the road to making large sums of money.

Blogging is here to stay. If you are blogging only as a hobby, then you are missing out on plenty of opportunities for making money. By blending your hobby and skills for a topic, you can become very successful online. So go ahead and start monetizing your blog effectively.

Should You Keep A Website And Website Separate?

There are basically three different ways of hosting a website if you are already running a web site. They are:

1) A sub directory, for example mysite.com/website
2) A sub domain, as for instance site.mysite.com
3) Another domain totally

So, what are the reasons behind each of these differences? Well to start at the end of the list, a lot of people think that a stand alone domain is the best way to run a new weblog. If you register the new weblog and host it with different hosts to the main site, then it is not associated with the main website, has a different C-Class ip address and so on.

The theory continues then that because it is a stand alone website, Google will rank heavily all links that you add from your website to your main website, believing that they are independent web-sites. However, I do not believe this to be the case purely because if you get carried away and link too often to your main website, especially if you are not linking to other web sites, then the search engines will easily pick up on the fact that the website is just promoting your main web site.

What about hosting your site on your main web site then? This actually does have lots of advantages, on top of possibly not requiring additional hosting. For a start, by hosting the weblog within your main site it will be recognised as part of your site by the search engines. Now, when you start to post to your site the search engines will see a wealth of fresh content building up and know that the site is being kept up to date. These are both good reasons for them to be sending you more visitors.

Also, if you build a good weblog that is being read often by readers, the search engines might use a variety of methods to track the number of visitors to your website. And it has been shown that sites that get more traffic through various methods then also perform better with the search engines.

Lastly, if your blog is an integrated part of your site then as visitors go from website to blog and back, they do not notice a swapping round of domains, styles and so on. This could make them more comfortable round staying on your blog.

But out of a sub domain and a sub directory, which is better? Well a sub directory is more interlinked and gives the full advantages, but several times it is easier to host on a sub domain. This means that it all really boils down to your circumstances.

But if I am creating a website for an existing site, my preference is first for a sub directory and then for a sub domain. Never a new domain.

Make Your Site Safe And Sound From Hackers Using A Solid Password

Protecting your weblog with a strong password is important. How can you create a strong password and what else could you do? And what can happen if you don’t?

If a hacker was to get hold of your website’s main admin password then they can take control of your blog. From easily adding posts that link to their own website, to loading virus software onto your readers’ computers and even getting you to unintentionally host phishing pages, there are heaps of prizes a hacker can take if they access your website.

And for you – well if a hacker gains access to your site you can lose all of your hard work!

How a hacker gains entry
A hacker will gain entry to your weblog in a couple of ways. First, they may use key logging software to ‘watch’ you type in your password. You protect yourself here by anti virus software and secure connections. But, this is a difficult way to get access to your site.

The other way is to straightforwardly ‘guess’ your password. A hacker will use a program to constantly try different potential passwords to log on to your admin – known as a brute force attack. A straightforward password will not take long to guess and that is why a strong password is indispensable.

‘Simple’ passwords
Using something as simple as ‘pass1′ is very insecure. Why? Well if the hacker starts at a, the aa, then ab and so on it will not take them long to get to your password. However, even ‘Pass1′ is harder to guess as the attack needs to look at upper and lower case letters.

Stronger passwords
But even both of these examples are very weak. The longer the password is the longer it will take to go through all of the combinations required to guess it. Stick to lower case letters and numbers and there are 36 characters per position. Include upper case characters and unusual characters and that could jump to 70 or 80 combinations. Expand that to an 8 character long password and the combinations likely becomes 80 * 80 * 80 * 80 * 80 * 80 * 80 * 80! Trying to go through these combinations becomes a lengthy process, during which hopefully the attacker gives up and tries elsewhere.

Send the hacker elsewhere
There are two further tricks to be sure that the attacker moves elsewhere. First of all do not use a simple to guess user id. Such as, in WordPress, do not use ‘admin’, which is the default. Now the hacker has not just to guess the password but also the user name.

The second security trick is to install a plugin that will block out a hacker from attempting new passwords, for instance Limit Login Attempts. This detects a brute force attack and locks out the hacker for a period of time. Suddenly, not only are they trying plenty of combinations but also taking days between guesses.
