The Blog Traffic Formula For Higher Google Rankings

If you have a blog and would like to find out a quick and straightforward way for obtaining free traffic and search engine rankings, this article shows you everything you wanted to know, step-by-step.

Before we move forward I want to talk about obtaining traffic and why the majority of bloggers get it wrong.

Up to 89% of blog owners think about traffic as hits, and put people all together. They’re looking at traffic as statistics, and forget the basics – at the end of the other line there is a breathing human being; with perhaps the identical problems, needs as you.

If these bloggers would not look at traffic as hits, and can give thought on who they actually want to attract, and who are they really talking to on their blog, traffic generating may not seem hard anymore.

Yes, for most bloggers traffic generation is rocket-science.

After you master the fundamentals, blogging for traffic will appear a total breeze. Just look around, and notice the pro bloggers out there. Do you think they’re searching for traffic? Not at all; they’re probably not actively generating traffic. They create traffic work for them.

Here is an illustration to make my point across:

Imagine blogger A [the newbie] on the other side of the road… attempting to attract the attention of the audience [the cars on the street and folks around] holding a BIG red sign “Visit my blog ->”

Now picture blogger B [the professional] who has a complete army of people and cars advertising on his behalf, all across the road.

eighty-nine% of bloggers are trying too hard to get their traffic; they are publishing articles and writing blog posts; dabbling with SEO, Twittering, forum marketing, and so on.

A little percentage of the bloggers out there recognize the power of leveraging so they’re taking advantage of other people’s traffic, rankings and authority.

If you wish to get on the boat of professional bloggers, then you have got to act like they act and do what they are doing:

Step #1 – think BIG and keep your focus [know who are you really talking with; who's your ideal shopper?]

Step #2 – run interviews, ad swaps and blog roll exchanges with like-minded bloggers in your field and industry

Step #3 – never pay for advertising unless you have your metrics tested and proven [for e.g. you know precisely your visitor value - click and lead revenue]

If you are aware that for each visitor to your blog, you are making $1 a month on average, then you probably can afford to pay fifty cents per unique visitor; you’d reap half a dollar as profit, right?

Website Marketing: What You Need To Know Prior To Beginning (Part 4)

YouTube Preview Image;http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MnY0CW9KxZI&feature=related]

Part 4 of 4. As such, your overall website marketing strategy looks like this. First, build a website of several pages, linking them together. Next, choose a domain name and a web host. Finally, place the website on the host and link it with the domain name. When all these steps are performed, a user can type your business’s memorable domain name into their address bar and learn all about your offerings.

When a customer does this, they view your site’s pages, images and other multimedia content in their browsers. This content, stored on the web hosting company’s computers, is delivered up via the web servers which they run and maintain on your behalf.

More often than not, the web browser or ?user agent? is one of the commonly available Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari or Opera. The user navigates between pages and content on your and other sites by clicking on hyperlinks. If the link includes the domain, users can ?surf the web? by connecting to sites and resources hosted worldwide.

With such a vast wealth of information from which to choose, finding a specific site can be a challenge. You can of course type a domain name into the address bar, but this helps little if you aren’t sure which domain to type. You may also wish to find websites on a specific topic rather than navigating to them individually by name.

It was this problem which search engines were created to address. Many such engines exist, of which Google, Yahoo! And Bing (formerly MSN Live) are the most influential. Because many users turn to these three engines for their online search needs, many webmasters make them key players in their website marketing strategies. Inclusion in all of these engines generates a great deal of free traffic which, in turn, translates into profit.

Additionally, consider using email to market your Website and business. Email is “a store and forward method of composing, sending, storing, and receiving messages over the internet. Email predates the Internet [and was a crucial technology in its creation.

Email was quickly extended and became a highly useful tool for the online marketers because it costs nothing to send. Plus, an auto-responder system only costs a few bucks a month and makes it’s very easy to build a list of current or potential clients. When you have a list like this, you can then email them automatically with special offers, send them a newsletter and keep you at the top of their mind.

And keeping you at the top of their mind is important to your “viral” success. Take our business, for example, we have a free weekly newsletter that we send out (sign up yourself) to current and potential clients. This gains the trust of our readers such that when people ask them for a Website design or SEM company, they frequently recommend us. To be sure, about 40% of our traffic comes from the three major search engines but the other 60% comes from thousands of other sites, from our newsletter or from our newsletter being forwarded to others. Be sure to check out Parts 1-3.

Website Marketing: What You Need To Understand Before Beginning (Part 1)

YouTube Preview Image;http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MnY0CW9KxZI&feature=related]

Part 1 of 4. Ten years ago, it cost thousands of dollars per year to host a Website. Now, hosting a Website costs just a few dollars per month. Today, businesses of any size can benefit from the growing spectrum of opportunities online.

Before getting started, we first must define what we mean by website marketing. Put simply, whereas traditional marketing methodologies harness the power of newspapers, radio and other forms of media, website marketing sells goods and services by utilizing the unique opportunities presented by websites, email and search engines.

According to Wikipedia, here are the definitions of phrases that you need to know about when studying Website marketing:

The world wide web is a global interlinked network of hypertext documents. Navigable via browser, users can view a vast array of text and multimedia content in an interconnected manner.

This content is served up by web servers, computer programs responsible for delivering the requested data to browsers via the HyperText Transfer Protocol (HTTP).

Each web server is reachable via an IP address, a globally unique series of numbers that locates it on the internet. For instance, google.com is located at the address 63.146.123.0. Comparing this to a business with a physical location, if your IP is a difficult-to-remember street address, then the associated domain name is a more memorable business name.

A server can host one or numerous Websites which “are a collection of related Webpages, images, videos or other digital assets that are addressed with a common domain name or IP address.” In fact, it’s very common for hosting companies to have dozens or even hundreds of Websites on a server. This is one reason that the prices in Web hosting have fallen.

A domain name is translated into the IP address by the “global DNS” or “domain name system”. The Domain Name System (DNS) is a naming system for computers, services, or any resource connected to the Internet or a private network. It associates various information with domain names assigned to each of the participants. Most importantly, it translates domain names meaningful to humans into the numerical identifiers associated with networking equipment for the purpose of locating and addressing these devices worldwide.

If this all sounds too technical, here is an analogy that might clear things up. Be sure to check out Parts 1-2 and 4.

This is just one of the best ways to find affiliate products fast. So consider how you can best determine which products to sell and how to sell them.

How To Measure Results With PPC Campaigns

Online marketing is now essential for businesses as the internet becomes more integrated in our daily lives. Pay per click advertising is one of the most effective form of online advertising today. PPC campaigns draw traffic from search engines by displaying ads relevant to what is being searched. When clicked, these ads take visitors to a sales page or landing page.

There are many pay per click publishers operating today, however Google Adwords is currently the most popular service and has the most market share. PPC is run in a fast-paced medium wherein information can be accessed instantaneously. This allows you to monitor your ads performance and quickly implement tweaks to increase their effectiveness.

Your site’s traffic is the most basic data used for optimizing PPC ads. The data can reveal how many visitors came to your site and identify where they originated. Check the dates when you have experienced a spike in traffic and check if those were the dates when you ran your ads.

Conversion rates are perhaps the most critical metric for your PPC campaign. Understanding how many clicks turned into a sale will give you a chance to determine how much it costs you to generate a lead from your campaign, and you can measure this over a period of time to determine the effectiveness of your ads. Keep in mind that measuring conversions can take many forms.

Author Joseph Thornton, of the book “The Online Advertising Playbook”, states that conversion can also be in the form of a customer signing-up for your news letter, disclosing of contact information, or even downloading a free product from your site.

Another way to measure the effectiveness of a PPC campaign is to analyze different keywords and keyphrases as they relate to conversion rates. If you are able to drill down exactly which keywords and keyphrases are leading to a sale, you can optimize your website for these words and also use the data for future campaigns.

Lastly, you need to determine the ad rankings within your industry. This help you decide which type of ad placement you will avail. Most ad networks offer two options on ad placement: a regular spot and a featured or special spot. Google Adwords offers something similar. They place the regular ads on the sidebar column and rotates them to give everyone a fair exposure. They also offer the more expensive “Featured Ads” placement.

Marketing with Google Adwords is an effective technique that most websites can use to find more customers. Creating quality Google Ads is one of the best skills to have when using Adwords – and there are many quality training guides available online.
