Is It Possible That Horizontal Content Websites Are Taking Over The Web

There is an unfamiliar trend that is going on on the internet called horizontal content sites. This is the idea of creating a site that can reign supreme over all niches. This is something that would be difficult to do for a low budget site but for major businesses with deep pockets it can be done.

A perfect example of a horizontal content site would be Britannica. But you are not confined to building encyclopedia sites to make this happen. This type of site can have old, present and new information about all. A website that big could get loads of hits and visitors. All you need is a lot of webmasters repeatedly sending in page after page about every niche market.

Horizontal content web sites are grown with the use of keyword sentences. They use an algorithm that finds hundreds even thousands of these and create content for each one. Then you can direct a product or service to all pages. This certainly goes against all the experts who say that keeping your site focused on a certain topic is the best way to go. But I would not be concerned to much about your niche sites right about now. But it does make you think about how competitive the bottom end of search engine placement will become. Since long tail keywords are good for new sites to get a leg up on how can this chance their web traffic in the coming days?

Sure a well established web site may make an attempt at this but there is a disadvantage. This will require lots of optimization and it would be a big time drainer to optimize each page for page one views. Some pages may do well while others will not get found. So there is a possibility that the big companies that will try this will pay lots of money on generating backlinks to all of their pages. Not something a typical site owner can do.

It maybe a good ideas to begin this on a small scale and make it a part of your seo before the fat cats take over them all. The web will only become more busy and because of this you need to pick up the pace. You do not have to have a site about everything just all things that is related to your niche. Start with one and build on it until you own the whole subject. Become the leader when visitors search for any ideas that related to your website.

You will always be able to find new niche ideas being created every day you do not have to be too concerned about horizontal content sites. No matter how much a webmaster can write they can never really cover everything known to mankind. There will always be a window of opportunity open for you if you keep up on the latest trends.

The smart thing to do is to continue to focus on creating multiple mini niche websites. You can learn how to make them by going over to our residual income businesses page. Looking for better web space for your new websites then visit our cheap web space page for the best hosting around.
